The Purgatory, originally named Egg Island, is a set of islands that separated the residents of Quesadilla Island and brought them multiple challenges. Players lived there for 2 weeks while the Island was undergoing maintenance due to a power outage. The place was introduced on November 4th, 2023 (Day 227), during the event of same name. It is presumably also located in the Pacific Ocean, due to the proximity of it to Quesadilla Island and being reachable by boat in days time as shown during the Purgatory Meeting stream.
After the detonation of Maximus' nuclear bomb, (November 18th, 2023 (Day 240) initially the landscape was seemingly left intact, with only being affected by the radiation and destruction after. The only currently known survivors of those left on the islands were BadBoyHalo through unknown means, Foolish and Tina having swam back with an Observer Worker, and the eggs themselves, with the addition of three unseen ones, revealed to have been hiding underground, with the only confirmed death being Maximus himself.
During Purgatory 2, it was revealed that Cellbit and Baghera had also survived the explosion, though remained on the island hidden on a bunker during the following weeks, now working for The Watcher and doing their bidding in causing more suffering to the sinners. They were later rescued by Pomme and Richarlyson.

Spawn[]
The spawn area is located in the desert, in the middle of the three islands. It's a large white structure, akin to a globe, where players go to complete global tasks. Because it's a highly visited area, and global tasks hold significant weightage, conflicts between players in this location are more common.

Team Red's Island[]
The Red Team's island is situated in a biome resembling a savannah. The players of the red team established their base closer to the spawn area where global tasks are located.
Team Red's Base[]
The initial home of Team Bolas was located near the NPC for their missions, in the savanna biome. It was situated in a conspicuous hole, with refrigerators and chests on display. The chests didn't contain much, such as 9 iron doors that Cellbit accidentally made when he needed to deliver iron for missions. There were some hidden chests in the wall with the most useful materials. They decided to move from this base and establish a new secret base because they fell victim to spawn killing on the first day. They died several times in that location and scattered their blood with Redstone, alongside their corpses, to remember the occasion.
The first secret base of the red team was situated within an underground concrete mountain, nestled in the heart of a cavern. The base is stocked with all the necessary materials the team has managed to acquire. Vital items, such as the refrigerator and food supplies, are discreetly concealed in a wall vault. Additionally, a hidden storage chamber, accessible via teleportation, lies even deeper beneath the ground. This concealed room contains all the essential ores, armors, and other crucial items for the red team. However, Team Soulfire found out about the location and they had to move to a different place.

Team Blue's Island[]
The Blue Team's spawn area is situated in a snowy mountainous biome, which made it challenging for them to acquire resources during the initial days. The players of the blue team decided to establish their base and plantations on a nearby snow-free island.
Team Blue's Base[]
Soulfire's starter base was on a beach which they sailed to on day 1 of the Purgatory Event. They have hidden chests scattered under the ground and kept their enchantment table underground in the side of a hill before moving it. Along the shore is a farm filled mainly with tea and some other crops built and cared for by TinaKitten.
The secret base is hidden underground underneath a lava pool and is much more homely than the original one. It uses oak logs and spruce wood along with moss as the flooring with flowers decorating the pathways and the ceiling. Within the base is an enchanting area containing an XP farm built by Pierre, an enchantment table and an anvil. There is also a villager hall right next to it which Tubbo created which supplied them with enchant books and emeralds. Taking up most of the main room in this base is a massive farm filled with various crops that Soulfire has collected.

Team Green's Island[]
The Green Team's island is abundant with bamboo and forests, and their spawn area is located on a beach. The players of the green team opted to create an underground base in the early days.
Team Green's Base[]
The first base of the green team was located near their spawn, in an underground area. There were several chests, two refrigerators, an enchantment table, and a small farm with crops. However, this location was destroyed by Cellbit, who decided to blame BadBoyHalo. The second base is in a more remote underground location. It includes a tea farm and various animals, such as sheep, pigs, cows, and chickens. The green team's mission NPC has also been moved to this location.Characters[]
