The name was given by the community due to Pepito's parents wearing an axolotl floatie in QSMP 2024, adding on to the fact Pepito is associated with axolotls by the community. It's also an animal from Mexico (and 4/5 of Pepito's parents are Mexicans). The name became canon on Day 421, when Pepito made a memorial for the "Familia Ajolote" in the Mexican Neighborhood on his last day with his parents.

Halo Family - BBH.Icon BadBoyHalo, BagheraJones.Icon Baghera Jones , Dapper.icon Dapper, Pomme.icon Pomme and FacelessWorkerIcon Ron

Originally Dapper and Bad, until Pomme joins the family. The family's name derives from "BadBoyHalo", and has been used by Pomme, Dapper, Bad and even the official QsmpEN Twitter account.[4] Baghera is included not only as mother to Dapper and Pomme, but also for being Bad's co-parent and found family.

Bad also considers Ron a member of his family.

La Familia Brown - Foolish.Icon Foolish, Leonarda.icon Leonarda, Vegetta.Icon Vegetta and Roier.Icon Roier

"The Brown Family" in Spanish. It began as a trio called The Builder Family due to Foolish, Leo and Vegetta being skilled builders - until Roier gets adopted into the family. La Familia Brown - based on Foolish's real last name Brown - then gets used for the first time by Vegetta on Day 70; this came as a shock to the community due to Vegetta's history of preferring his last name De Luque be used over his partners'.

This family can also extend to include Cellbit, Richarlyson, Pepito and even Jaiden [Note 2].

Late Night Crew - BBH.Icon BadBoyHalo, Dapper.icon Dapper, Pomme.icon Pomme, Richarlyson.icon Richarlyson and YD.Icon 양띵

Composed of characters/eggs who often stay on the server late into the night, even into the morning at times. Originally just Richarlyson, Dapper, Pomme and Bad, YD later joins due to time zones. It's important to note that in Korean time, they'd actually be considered more of a morning crew then the actual Morning Crew.

McCombo - Aldo.Icon Aldo, ElMariana.Icon ElMariana, Rivers.Icon Rivers and Roier.Icon Roier

Basically McTrio + Rivers; the "meal" became a "combo". This is their official group name used by both community and streamers.

Morning Crew - Fit.Icon FitMC, Pac2.Icon Pac, and Tubbo3.Icon Tubbo

Morning Crew is composed of streamers who are most likely to join the server early which led to Tubbo and Fit creating the title of Morning Crew. The Morning Crew evolved into a trio name for Tubbo, Fit and Pac[5], who consider themselves “family in a way” since they are so close knit and saw one another almost every day. They get excited whenever they have a "3/3 Morning Crew" day, if another member of their group isn’t online they will often become sad, despondent, and remark about feeling abandoned or lonely.

There are also Honorary members of the Morning Crew who are are generally considered to be Phil, Bagi, and Mike, players who are close to the core Morning Crew and usually log in earlier than others, though not to the same degree as the core trio. While some members consider the Honorary members as officially part of the Morning Crew (such as Pac or Fit with Mike), not all of the Morning Crew consider them as official members with the core three generally continuing to call themselves a trio.

If the original intent of the name is considered then the Morning Crew consists of Fit, Pac, Tubbo, Bagi, Phil, Mike, Pierre, and Luzu as being the players typically online earlier than others. This group is also simply referred to as taking the "Morning Shift", as well as Morning Crew.

RadioEgg - Chayanne.icon Chayanne , Leonarda.icon Leonarda, Pomme.icon Pomme, Richarlyson.icon Richarlyson and TallulahnewIcon Tallulah

Inspired by Radiohead, this is a band composed of eggs - thus, the pun in the band name. They made their official debut at Cellbit and Roier's wedding.

The Red Team led by Philza during the Purgatory Event. The name Bolas comes from a meme introduced to most QSMP members by Jaiden.

However, it's important to note that based on who actually actively participates during the two week event, the community and even creators would consider the core (even "family") members of Bolas to be Philza, Foolish, Cellbit, Slimecicle, Jaiden, Baghera and Carre.

Comes from Ironmouse, Foolish, Jaiden, Tina and Bad trying to come up with a group name while adventuring together. Mouse comes up with The Girles + BBH, to which Foolish questioned why he was part of "The Girlies".

The Jaidens - Jaiden2.Icon This character has passed away. Jaiden, Cellbits.Icon Cellbit, Foolish.Icon Foolish, BBH.Icon BadBoyHalo and Richarlyson.icon Richarlyson

Theory Bros - BBH.Icon BadBoyHalo, Foolish.Icon Foolish, Maximus.Icon Maximus and BagheraJones.Icon Baghera Jones

The three founders of the original theorizing club before it expanded into Ordo Theoritas. Despite the name not being used by the organization anymore, it still exists to mark their little friend circle; sometimes they will have their own discussions if they don't feel like waiting for Cellbit to initiate one with the Order.

Baghera is later invited into Theory Bros, making her a member despite not being there for its founding.

The French (Family) - BagheraJones.Icon Baghera Jones, AntoineDaniel.Icon Antoine Daniel, Etoiles.Icon Etoiles, Aypierre.Icon Aypierre, Kameto.Icon Kameto, BBH.Icon BadBoyHalo and Pomme.icon Pomme

Originally just Pomme and her parents/all five French-speaking members of QSMP. After Pomme's adoption by BadBoyHalo though (and some time getting used to it) her other parents began considering him part of the family. Bad even includes himself when he sometimes talks about The French. For some time Bad is seen as Kameto's replacement, but Kameto's return confirms them to be six parents instead of five.[Note 3]

The Swellers - Jaiden2.Icon This character has passed away. Jaiden, BagheraJones.Icon Baghera Jones, Foolish.Icon Foolish and Slimecicle.Icon Slimecicle

Originated as the Swell/Swelling Squad for their joint creation of the infamous book The Big Swell.[Note 4] The Swellers became a more popular name among the community however, and began to mainly refer to specifically Jaiden, Baghera, Foolish and Charlie.[Note 5]

Town of Fobo - Foolish.Icon Foolish, Tubbo3.Icon Tubbo, SunnySideUp.Icon SunnySideUp and Leonarda.icon Leonarda

After QSMP Prison, Foolish and Tubbo join forces to create a joint faction/city; using the fusion of their names Fobo they end up with Town of Fobo. On the start of QSMP 2024 both men are joined by their daughters Leo and Sunny during the official founding of the city.

Notes & References

Notes

  1. The last two deaths were initially thought to be caused by misclicks, but are later found by Etoiles to be due to a bug with the Sweeping Edge effect on swords.
  2. Jaiden is included with the reason of being Foolish's found family, but her inclusion is more community-driven than 100% canon)
  3. Ironically, for being called The French, two of them don't possess French nationality; Baghera is Swiss and Bad is American (He doesn't even speak French).
  4. for a short time, Nihachu and BadBoyHalo were considered part of the squad possibly and simply for being present when the group name was formed, despite the two not actually having a hand in making the book.
  5. On the other hand, despite Etoiles actually having contributed to the book, his absence from the group since then led to him not being considered one of The Swellers.
