The Laboratory Ruins is a multi-tiered subterranean complex, and previously a monster-infested dungeon. It looks to be an abandoned Federation laboratory that harbor degraded pods and classified documents.

It was explored by The Jaidens during the Can you hear it? event. The purpose of the ruins and the reason behind its abandonment remain unknown.

Description[]

The laboratory consists of 10 underground levels, with the first 9 being labeled "A1" to "A9", similarly to the "A0" sign found in the Federation Headquarters, and the "AB" sign found by Forever outside of a Nether train station on day 201.

The lowest floor of the ruins features multiple frozen glass panels connected to elevators that lead to a separate prison and resource nodes that held the guests rescued in the Rescue Mission event.

Levels[]

Surface[]

The entrance of the ruins consist of a small stone brick area with a blackstone shed containing barrels and potato crates.

On day 159, during the Rescue Mission event, pillars of black concrete appeared in the surrounding snow area, alongside 3 circular invisible barriers, each with one gate guarded by a Binary Entity pretending to be one of the deceased eggs.

A1 to A3[]

These levels contain wooden crates and barrels. Floor A1 has a big library, while floor A2 has a small meeting area with a lectern.

Egg A1 could be related to the homonymous level of the laboratory.

A4[]

Two thin glass tubes with breathable water can be found in this level. The first one is tall, with a wooden platform around it allowing it to be inspected from higher spots. The second one is shorter, and has its glass broken.

Books found during the Can you hear it? event suggest that the projects carried in this level "required immediate attention", needed "mitigation strategies strengthened" and ultimately were "discontinued, with records preserved in secure archives".

A5[]

This level features another library with more tables. Higher presence of quartz blocks can also be observed.

A6[]

Similarly to floor A4, a thin tall glass tube with water can be found in this level, also featuring a wooden platform around it.

The books that reference the experiments in this level indicate that "further investigation was required", a "significant breakthrough was achieved", and "potential for expansion was to be assessed".

A7[]

This level contains a storage room with wooden crates, and redstone circuits.

A8[]

A broken, short, wide glass tube with breathable water can be found in this floor. Bigger quartz structures, like wide pillars, can also be seen.

A9[]

This level features a church-like room, with quartz pillars, platforms and walls.

Lowest floor[]

In this level, a freezer-like quartz room can be found. This room contains 12 frozen glass panels, with 4 of them being hidden behind a big screen. At least 9 of the glass panels serve as the exit of elevators that connect the laboratory with an underground prison.

At each side of the screen, shulker boxes and big buttons can be used to activate a 3-day countdown timer, its true purpose being unknown.

On day 201, it was revealed that behind one of the 4 hidden glass panels there is a corridor that leads to a secret Federation meeting room.
