Murder Mystery was a mini-event that was announced on May 6th, 2024. and was held on May 13th, 2024 (Day 417 of QSMP).

History

For the mini-event, players were teleported to a special lobby, where the lobby featured a leaderboard for the different rounds that would take place and the roles they might receive at the start. Additionally, there was a shop where they could purchase tickets to participate.

At the start of the rounds, the players were teleported to the Murder Mystery Arena, a place built by TazerCraft after the completion of the Hide and Seek Event, that was also organized by them. The construction of the Murder Mystery Arena began on day 115, where various themed structures can be found.

Activities

Win Conditions

• Innocent and Detective: Survive until the end, or all murderers are dead.
• Murderer: Kill innocents until the amount of murderers is equal or greater than the amount of innocents.

Roles

At the start of each round, participants are randomly assigned a role, which would then provide them with a mission they needed to complete in order to earn points.

Base Roles

Roles	Description
Innocent	Can't do anything special, his objective is survive.
Murderer	Has a murderer knife, can see who his murderer and who is innocent, his objective is to kill all innocents.
Detective	Has the detective gun, can kill players, if they kill a murderer they get a reward, otherwise they die. When the detective dies they drop a gun which will be marked with a beacon. If an innocent grabs the gun it becomes the next detective. The murderers can't get the gun.

Special Roles

Roles	Description
Joker	Objective is to die for extra points.
Banana Cult Leader	Starts with special bananas, aims to make others hold a banana in their left hand for extra points.
Betrayer	Innocent role with a jailer who can send players to the basement.
Bodyguard	Assigned a person to protect marked with purple; if the person survives, extra points are earned.
Butcher	Starts with a big knife, can butcher bodies found in the match for extra points.
Chemistry Professor	Must find green chests and craft chemicals in trailer for extra points.
FNAF Security	Starts with an animatronic collector, earns extra points by collecting scattered animatronics.
Ghost	Starts with an invisibility potion.
Gravedigger	Can identify murderers and convince them to kill at the cemetery for extra points.
Snitch	Starts with an item to send players to the police station jail.
Lover	Starts loving someone marked in pink; if that person dies, the Lover dies too.

Trivia

• The Murder Mystery event has been anticipated since July 2023, with the arena being built by Pac and Mike since that time.
• The event was originally planned to take place on May 9th 2024, but due to a low amount members could make it that day, the event was postponed to May 13th.
