The Nether is a dangerous, hell-like, alternative dimension containing fire, lava, many hostile mobs, and exclusive structures and biomes, accessible only through a portal.
The access to it is currently prohibited by the Federation to the island residents, since the portals are very unstable and people can get stuck there, in addition to containing dangerous entities and an unsolved mystery behind them. However, some people have managed to enter the dimension, the first case was on April 16, 2023 (Day 26) when Foolish got sent there by the Angel Rubius after insulting him.
Description[]
The Nether features unique cave-like terrain with no sky. Lava and fire are common hazards everywhere in the Nether. Areas distant from the player are shrouded in fog of red or blue. The shape of the terrain in the Nether is independent of the biome distribution; instead, the biome alters the surface material and adds terrain features to the netherrack terrain.

A day after Forever's Plan, while Etoiles was exploring, the Binary Entity appeared to him, though for once not hostile. It led him to a warp stone titled ".", that itself brought him to a cave with a nether portal. After crossing it he successfully arrived in the other dimension, and received the drawing of a shield along with coordinates. He then got kicked from the server with the message "The Nether Awaits..."
Etoiles woke up in the Nether, where he found a waystone leading to a fortress. He started cleaning the waves of monsters and demons spawning at him as he explored the fortress and its direct surroundings. He soon realized that, since he was stuck there, he would soon run low on ressources, especially potions. Etoiles also reached what looked like a Federation office, where he would need to use a keycard to get into. Etoiles then resumed to the exploration (and took the opportunity to collect some blocks and ressources he could only find here) until eventually stumbling upon the keycard in the fortress. He thus got inside the Federation building, which was a single room with a white shulkerbox in the middle and a nether portal against the wall. In the shulkerbox, Etoiles found a blurry picture of the same shield from the old parchment, along with a book listing the incredible features of such shield : infinite durability, huge damage absorption, protection against items dropping and knockback. The book also contained notes reading as follows :
- After an intense trial, the remains of CPV1 has been destroyed in light of unprecedented events.
- All documentation and schematics of subsequent iterations have similarly been incinerated as per protocol, as reported by [REDACTED].
- These documents and materials exist as proof of concept and should be kept under strict protections at a discrete location.
Etoiles then broke the shulkerbox and dug under it, finding a hidden black shulkerbox. In it was a shield named CPV2.
Upon returning to the island, Etoiles spawned in the same cave where he disappeared 10 days ago. Here he was attacked by the Code wielding the legendary sword that the Federation retrieved weeks ago thanks to Cellbit unknowingly working for them. Using his new shield, he managed to defeat it once again. However, he wasn't able to loot its sword.
On Day 157, Forever, Abueloier, Quackity and Baghera came up with the idea of going to the Nether. They went to the living room and BBH later appeared. The train had some problems so they went on foot and surprisingly it worked. The place was different from the last time, appearing in a Nether Fortress, with a 10 minute timer starting. Forever brews a fire resistance potion so they don't die falling into the lava.
Quackity had trouble falling into lava, but surviving with the potion, and Baghera was almost killed by a mob. With 3 minutes left, Quackity was desperately trying to get back to the Nether with Ender pearls, but when he got it the Portal was full of creatures and constantly breaking, but he finally made it. Later Forever, Abueloier and BBH managed to escape but Baghera did not return. BBH came back to rescue her.
Time was up, but luckily BBH managed to save Baghera, who was almost dying, and they managed to return and no one was left behind.

Forever was taken by Fred and other members of the Federation to a secret room in the Laboratory Ruins, in which he met with Osito Bimbo and he discussed with Forever information about the Eggs and what something dangerous is appearing on the island. Osito said that Forever will have to go to the Nether, without telling anyone, otherwise he might lose the chance to see his son again. Forever prepares and goes to the Nether alone, with a mysterious block given by Osito (AEngine #2), turning on his nether portal.

Forever has been in the Nether for almost a month, accompanied only by Walter Bob and the dangerous mobs there, living in a small house quickly built and with his health almost zero. When he left the house, he came across a distant creature up in a tree, who came up to him and gave him a book.

The creature was a variation of Cucurucho, but black and red-faced, which was seen before on Day 176. They were torturing Forever during all this time in the Nether, saying they were just having fun with him, but the time for playing was over.
Forever ran to his house, but Dark Cucurucho kept sending him books, while laughing on the ceiling and mobs surrounded his house.

The creature insisted that he and Forever had a lot in common, trying to convince him to make a wish for him when he returned from the Nether, saying that with this he would know the truth. He asked that, when he was there alone and in some secret place, Forever would speak a few words to him:

Forever couldn't tell anyone about this, keeping this secret so he could think about the case, even if he was denying it all the time because he didn't trust the creature. However, in the middle of all this, Walter Bob returns home and warns Forever that he needs to follow him now, not having time to explain. They run shooting the creatures in their path and arrive at a Nether portal, Forever then enters the portal while Walter Bob provided cover, not appearing with the President, apparently staying behind.
On Day 9 of Purgatory, a message from The Watcher appeared for the "Sinners", saying that he would give them some crumbs of information about the Eggs, but to do so they would have to pass a mini-game in the Nether. Tubbo and BadBoyHalo are in Spawn and come across an immersive Nether portal that takes them to the beginning of the Mini-game, being a classic Minecraft parkour.

On the first day of the Bunny Era in QSMP 2024, it was announced that Nether would be one of the unlockable events that players will be able to acquire once they reach their first spending goal.
