Hi, Admin Neovres here, and this is The Wrong Timezone Show Starring QSMP Wiki! As the interview is hosted via DMs, don't worry about answering right away - take as much time as you need. How are you feeling after competing in Purgatory II? Did the event go the way you expected it to?
Oh, hello, good evening everyone! At first, when I received the invitation to participate in QSMP Purgatory 2, I was really, really nervous, haha, I showed it to my parents, I was so happy, and I was shocked that I was selected, because I am still not a very well-known content creator, and being chosen was really something I did not expect. I believe they ended up choosing me because I have always been very active in the community, I don't know, haha, I am very grateful! On the day my team was eliminated, I was a bit sad, but the next day, I stopped to look at everything that had happened, and really, we from team Axolotl did our best, for me, there are no regrets, meeting my teammates was amazing, I was very happy and grateful for the whole experience! I can say that I would not change anything about the way it happened, the event was incredible, I had interactions with creators I never imagined I could, so yes, the event happened the way I expected, very well organized and well done!
- Neovres
You're very active in the community indeed, I have to admit that as someone using Twitter a lot I have been seeing your name here and there way before the Purgatory events. I'm glad to hear you have no regrets, however, like you said, your team did get eliminated pretty early on. Did you have any plans for your character in a scenario where it wasn't a case and you survived the whole event?
Yes, I had plans in case I managed to make it to day 5. Right after I knew I had been invited to the event, I contacted the skinmaker @SleepyStufful and then commissioned more worn-out stages of my skin, so that with each day that passed in the Purgatory, my skin would become more and more worn out. As for the lore, I couldn't develop much because during the event we were tryharding as much as we could.
- Neovres
I've actually seen the skins you're talking about, they look awesome and who knows, maybe there will be a use for them in the future 👀 So I'm assuming you didn't think of any post-Purgatory lore for you character? Was the event an isolated story or maybe a part of something bigger?
Yeah, the lore of my Purgatory Cubito is totally linked to the lore of my Cubito that I was already developing in my Minecraft Hardcore series. More precisely, everything that happened or will happen to my character within the QSMP universe, or other events/series, is the past, and the Hardcore is the present. There is an element in the lore of my character that explains how this is possible, but I can't give spoilers because it would ruin the entire experience I want to create with the series. The goal with my Hardcore series is to tell a story in a way similar to QSMP, where the community makes theories and puts the pieces together to understand what's happening. In the future, when I have people working with me, because currently I do everything alone, I want to take this universe beyond Minecraft as well, probably through illustrated animations to represent and tell the story that is happening in this cubic game >:D Who knows, maybe in the future, I'll commission a Vtuber model, to really illustrate and bring the character to life, but these are much more future plans...
- Neovres
Holy shit, that sounds so cool!! I'm not gonna aks more about future lore then, keep your secrets king :DD And good luck with the projects, I'll look forward to them! But back to Purgatory lore, is there something specific about your character you'd want to make canon? Maybe something that isn't on your Wiki page but you want to include or just let people know?
Hmm, making something canonical... I don't have many things in mind at the moment, but maybe that my character really likes foxes, is right-handed, likes the color blue. The most important information is already all on the wiki :D If I remember something very important that needs to become canonical, I'll let you know :)
- Neovres
And we'll be ready to hear from you! You mentioned earlier that you're proud of the teamwork. What do you think was the most challenging for the Axolotls during the event?
Ahh, the most challenging part of the event... Definitely the PVPs, for me at least, I got really nervous, haha. My hand was sweating a lot during those decisive moments, and it ended up messing with my grip on the mouse, haha, but everything turned out fine. In most of the PVPs I faced, I managed to get good results. I didn't get into a lot of battles, but the ones I did enter were satisfactory :D Ahh, another tough part we went through were the last 2 hours of the server on the second day, where we were farming sand to craft the water pots. Those were the most painful 2 hours of the whole event, a lot of pressure, haha.
- Neovres
I can imagine the PvP aspect might've been stressful since there was a fair group of remarkably competent PvPers on the event. Your first kill of the game was Tubbo right? I gotta say this win was pretty impressive, especially as a lot of people probably didn't know what to expect from you skill-wise yet. On the contrary to the struggles, what are your most fond memories of Purgatory?
Yes, the first kill I got on the server was with Tubbo, I was very happy that after the server crash, he allowed me to have a fair fight with him, it was amazing even though I died right after lol. Hmm, my best memories from the Purgatory I believe were the EggWars, because my team was very synchronized and it was quite funny lol and also the moments we were farming and we would talk about anything lololol I really liked it!
- Neovres
Who do you think you got along with the best? Is there anyone from outside your team you wish you have gotten to know better?
I believe that the people with whom I was able to get along and interact the best were Ljoga and CapitanGato. They are very nice, and CapitanGato, a little before the second day started, helped me train in PVP, which was really good for the EggWars event! From outside my team, I would have really liked to interact more with Tubbo, Aimsey, Bagi, CPK, Shubble, and everyone in general! Soon, in January, we'll probably have collabs with these folks, and I'm pretty excited! :D
- Neovres
That's some thrilling news, good luck and have fun with the collaborations! Speaking of abilities, do you think there are any particular skills you possess that were useful during the event? Maybe something that gave you advantage over the other players or something which made the gameplay easier?
Hmm, I couldn't see much advantage, because I know quite a bit about Vanilla Minecraft, but in Purgatory we had a lot of mods, so it was a totally new experience for me lol. But yes, it was better than knowing nothing, the knowledge I already have of standard Minecraft helped me a lot, especially about the PVP knowledge with shields.
- Neovres
Oh yeah, Purgatory was packed with some unique mods, it definitely requires time to get familiar with that kind of stuff. Was there a mod you found particularly fun to work with?
Hmm, I didn't have time to explore the mods, but one that I really wanted to be able to use was Squok's, that grapling hook that the QSMP guys use to move around faster! Ahh, but of the ones I had contact with, the disaster mod was pretty fun lol
- Neovres
As we all know, QSMP is slowly but surely opening it's doors to creators from all around the globe. If you were to participate in another event of this project, are there any specific languages you'd want included? Any specific CCs you'd want to interact with?
I would love to see content creators from Asia, like Japan, Korea, China... Currently, I am learning Japanese through Duolingo, so I would really like to interact with Japanese content creators, currently I hardly know any lol and this contact would be amazing!
- Neovres
Good luck with your Duolingo, I know Japanese is not an easy language to learn so you have my rescpect here 🫡 Is there a phrase or a word in another language that you learned during Purgatory and which kind of stuck in your memory? Something you know you will just remember?
Well, haha, I couldn't develop much in this part, as Purgatory was short for our team, and we were highly focused, so there wasn't much time left to talk and learn about Spanish. However, through Duolingo, one word has stayed with me, which is "cake" in English but "pastel" in Spanish, which is a completely different food in Portuguese.
- Neovres
I have one last question for you. Was there anything that surprised you in Purgatory? Did something you didn't expect happen?
I believe that one thing that surprised me during Purgatory was the courage I had to lead LOL because honestly, I don't know where it came from, but I'm glad I was able to deal with it satisfactorily! And I hope in future events to be able to lead more times! Thank you very much for interviewing me! It was a pleasure!! <3
- Neovres
Thank you so much for participating in our project! :]
