Technoblade is a character shrouded in myth and legend. Despite not being physically present in the overall narrative, Technoblade still holds a respected and significant place in the lore of the QSMP.

Personality

King of the pigs, destroyer of orphans, professional cyberbully, and the hottest elbows on YouTube, Technoblade was a renowned figure known for his competitive spirit, strategic prowess, and relentless pursuit of victory through the funniest means imaginable. As a role model, he inspired millions with his continuous efforts to refine his skills, always staying an unfathomable number of steps ahead of his rivals and garnering admiration for his exceptional dedication to excellence. Despite his fierce competitive drive, Technoblade demonstrated profound respect for his opponents, acknowledging their abilities and upholding principles of fairness and reciprocity in his endeavours.

Beyond his formidable exterior, Technoblade maintained a down-to-earth and approachable demeanour. He effortlessly combined his charismatic and humorous side with his intimidating presence, captivating both fellow players and his audience with his quick wit, clever remarks, sarcasm, and skilful wordplay. Legacy

Technoblade's legacy on Quesadilla Island is primarily spread by Philza through bedtime stories told to Chayanne and sometimes Tallulah. Wilbur Soot and Tommyinnit (via phone call) have also been present for one of these storytelling sessions, particularly during the story of MCC 4 which Wilbur told.

However, Technoblade's biggest impact on the island is the conquering and spread of a long potato field that extends towards both ends of the dividing wall. This vast potato field serves as a community farm, where everyone is welcome to take, harvest, and replant the potatoes. The initial purpose of the potato field was inspired by Philza's effort to help Chayanne become more like his hero, Technoblade. Chayanne then took on the challenging task of harvesting 100,000 potatoes, with aid from both Philza and Tallulah. Later, Ramón contributed to the process by constructing an automatic harvester using the Create Mod, greatly increasing the efficiency and assisting his close friend Chayanne. With their combined efforts, Chayanne ultimately reached the goal of harvesting 100,000 potatoes.

The Great Potato War: Part 1

Philza

Cast your mind back, I'm gonna tell you about... the Potato War.....

Philza

Once upon a time.. there was a person called Squidkid. And he farmed potatoes every day, so much so... that across the town, across cities, across the world, he was known as.. the number 1 potato farmer.. And then.. one day.. a new challenger approached!

Philza

His name was Technoblade. And Technoblade, or Techno as his friends would call him [...] didn't like to be beaten by people.

Philza

He liked to be number 1. In everything. So he set out to be the number 1 potato farmer and grinded everyday! He also installed a few wiretaps, illegally, potentially, uh, breaking a few laws.. uh.. spying.. uh.. various different methods of espionage to find out more information about Squidkid.

Philza

[turns mic off] I'm kidding chat, he never did espionage- I'm just trying to make it more dramatic. [laughs] [turns mic back on]

Philza

Yes! He was going to win no matter what! And, soon enough, he eventually passed Squidkid in potatoes!

Philza

Was that the end of the war? Not quite! But during the war, he'd made a new friend.. and brought to light a player who'd gone unnoticed for quite some time.. and allowed him to flourish and have a community of his own!

The Great Potato War: Part 2

Philza

So.. remember part one of the Potato War? Well this is part two. This is part two of the Potato War, featuring Technoblade and Squidkid.

Philza

Now, victorious from the Potato War.. the Great Potato War.. Technoblade sits upon his throne... and laughs at Squidkid. He even got Squidkid to change the little number 1 on his island to number 2! 'Cause he was the second-best now, Techno was number 1!

Philza

But.. the war was not over! For you see... currently there was no limit to how many potatoes you could farm! So he had to keep the lead, he had to stay ahead! And he would do it by any means necessary!

Philza

Techno had alt accounts, one of which was called "Whitelisted", that would just sit on Squidkids island, AKFing, and spying on him! But Squidkid.. found out.

Philza

Squidkid was smarter than he looked... After hearing this, and after finding out that Techno had put a fake account on his island and discovered his secrets and was spying on him, Squidkid locked his island from anyone! He locked it!

Philza

But Techno had a plan... Techno knew of multiple things that could help him in the Potato War.

Philza

So he continued farming and he continued collecting resources. And he got himself.. a rabbit pet! Which apparently boosted his stats for collecting potatoes by like 30% for some reason? I think? I think it was 30?

Philza

It was a lot, it was- it was stupid. It was- it was really stupid. And he upgraded the pet and it got him even- even more potatoes! It made no sense! But he kept on grinding.

Philza

He kept grinding- farming potatoes so much that when he took a nap.. he woke up, not knowing how much time had passed, and looked at his potatoes and knew by how much they had grown that it had been 4 hours.

Philza

So he continued- he continued farming potatoes into the night.. but Squidkid was gaining on him. And he had to think of something.

The Great Potato War: Part 3

Philza

Previously [laughs] in Technoblade's Potato War.. they were farming potatoes so much they were losing their fucking minds! They were going insane. Techno and Squidkid were just slowly losing their sanity.

Philza

There was multiple different times where Squidkid thought he was in the lead but he actually wasn't and Techno was in the lead and it came down to them deciding, they came to a truce, they came to a mutual agreement because they would've just kept farming potatoes endlessly- without a final goal. So they set a goal.

Philza

500 thousand potatoes. The first person to reach it.. will be crowned the winner. [laughs] So they got to it. They farmed, they researched, they farmed some more. Techno was putting in 8 to 12 hours a day some days.. just constantly farming potatoes.

Philza

He found out that the rabbits pet would boost your potato farming by, I think, 13% but it was bugged so it was kind of.. busted?

Philza

Then he also found out that having somebody elses pet show up on your island took priority from your pet, so you were getting a certain amount and then somebody showed up to AFK on your island and it ruined it. But he didnt let Squidkid know that. Because, as he says, and as Sun Tzu says, "All war is deception".

Philza

There were multiple things that Techno lied about in his previous videos to catch Squidkid off guard. He lied about how he was farming potatoes. He lied about how many potatoes he had at the time. And secretly was gaining a huge distance on potatoes farmed vs Squidkid.

Philza

And before Squidkid could find out and realize.. it was too late. Techno had won the potato war. Reaching 500 thousand potatoes, half a million potatoes farmed! [laughs]

Philza

Famously, he did consider not helping- [laughs] Famously, he did consider not going out for his fathers medicine.. because he wanted to keep farming potatoes. But then he thought to himself, "I want God to hesitate.. I want him to hesitate just a little bit," cause he was an atheist but if he was gonna go to Heaven, he wanted him to hesitate for a second.

Philza

Y'know, just before he just threw him down there- [laughs] for not getting his dads medicine. But he did- he went and got the medicine- he got the medicine for him because hes not a monster y'know. [laughs]

SMP EARTH: The ANTARCTIC EMPIRE

Philza

So you remember Technoblade, you remember the Technoblade stories I told you about the Potato War? Yeah.. Well this ones a bit different. This story is not gonna be part 3 of the Potato War! This story is about him and me taking over the world.

Philza

So, we used to play together in a different world, different than this. It was a lot more simple - we had guns but it was a little bit more simple- it was less, less things to kill you, y'know?

Philza

It was just other people, really, it was other people... And one day Techno mentions to me, "Hey, I know how to take over the world. I know how we can just take everyones stuff and itll be reallyyyyy funny." so I get to work.

Philza

And I spend hours and hours and hours grinding, making sure we have everything we need. I stay up until 4AM almost everyday leading up to it, so when we do take over the world we are fully prepared. We have god apples, we have emeralds, we have everything.

Philza

And he tells me, "All we need to do is just drive our boats around this specific spot!" and I was like, "I don't believe it- I don't believe it's gonna be that simple! That's crazy!" and y'know what? It was that simple. Thats how good he was! Thats how smart he was, thats how far ahead he planned.

Philza

He knew exactly how long it would take, how much power it would take and he calculated it. And we did it. We took over the world that day.. Kind of pissed off a few people but.. all in good fun!

Philza

It was mostly cosmetic anyway! We just wanted to prove we could do it.

Philza

And from that moment on everyone feared.. feared the name "Antarctic Empire". It was synonymous with battle, with preperation.. and with friendship.

Philza

So if you ever hear anyone- the words "Antarctic Empire".. you can tell them your dad was apart of that! Your dad helped Techno take over the world! Yeahhh!

Philza

I see a lot of him in you, actually, I do see a lot of him in you. I reckon one day you'll take over the world. And I'll be right there watching.

Minecraft Monday

Philza

Funny enough, Minecraft Monday its- its a tournament- it was a tournament for Minecraft players, okay, where everyone just like fought and- and- and the best players came out on top. And I'd- I'd never heard of Techno until I got teamed with 'em. I just- I just knew he was cracked at Minecraft, y'know, I didn't see any- I didn't know about him till Minecraft Monday.

Philza

And we got teamed together. And when I tell you the chemistry was instant- when I tell you the friendship was immediate I am not kidding. We immediately clicked. And it was the best tournament ever. We absolutely destroyed the competition!

Philza

What was really funny was the organizer of the tournament thought that he was nerfing Techno because Techno was so powerful he kept trying to put him with people that he didn't think were that good. But he made a big mistake putting me with him 'cause we absolutely destroyed dude. [laughs]

Philza

The- the organizer of the tournament just thought I was some casual player! No PVP experience, just played single player y'know? [laughs]

Philza

But, I actually did PVP quite a bit! So I knew a lot of tricks and it was the old style PVP where you could spam click really fast so if you were just faster than someone you were better usually.

Philza

And, yeah, we bonded- we made so many good memories. From that day forward. And if it wasnt for that tournament I wouldnt've met em. Wouldnt've became friends with him.

Philza

Same goes for Wil! Same goes for Wilbur! Your dad, Tallulah! I met him through Minecraft Monday as well. And he was great, we got along like a house on fire, immediately! But we didn't win. We didn't win the tournament- we did really bad actually- we did terrible, uh- [laughs]

Philza

We, uh, we did so bad that in the last game we both were just laughing at how bad we were and then saying "Hey, should we just end stream? Should we just go?" and we just left the tournament early because it was that hilarious how bad we were doing.

Philza

Y'know- we're not- together, as a team, we weren't exactly fighters. Y'know. [laughs] But we had a great time. Yeah, he's- he's- he's great. And that was the first time I spoke and interacted with- with your dad, as well, with Wil.

Philza

And ever since we've been friends. Y'know, its funny to think about.. that without that tournament we might not have met, y'know? We might not have had all these memories. And made these friendships.

Philza

And what was the best part about the tournament was that when me and Techno won we took someone's money! We took the organizers money and he was pissed! He was mad! He was mad and we laughed! We laughed! Money- into our Paypal accounts! [laughs] Like 5 thousand dollars each I think- I can't remember.

Philza

Yeah it was great. Yeahhh! We got the bag, dude! [laughs] [...] Techno was winning so much that they had to reduce the prize money. It was just- it was becoming insane- it was becoming too insane. [...] Yeah we rickrolled the shit out of them Tallulah, we did exactly that, it was playing in our heads.

MCC 4

Wilbur Soot

So, a long time ago, in a distant land of the year 2020, [...] there was a Minecraft team. It was built for the Minecraft Championship- which is the- the biggest thing that has ever happened-

Its like the Olympics.

Wilbur Soot

-specifically number 4, all the others pale in comparison. None were as good as number 4. And basically there were these 4 people chosen, and they were the great-

Wilbur Soot

the great elder, the wisest of the Minecrafters, the longest survivor of all time, Philza Minecraft.

Wilbur Soot

There was the PVP legend, a master of his domain, a destroyer of men, women and their now orphaned children, he was very very good at it and his name was Technoblade.

Wilbur Soot

There was also the scrappy, young upstart, the- y'know- the prodigal son who was going to take on the crown and soon take on after his predecessors, Tommyinnit.

And there was Wilbur. [laughter from both Phil and Wilbur]

Together the formed MCC 4 Purple Pandas. They were the deadset favourites to win. And there was going to be crazy upset. Everyone- everyone thought Purple Pandas was gonna win. And would you believe it.. after a long fought battle.. they won. They won. Despite Wilbur building something wrong in Sky Battle and falling to his death in the void- um-

Philza

Some would say that was an advanced tactic called "Ghosting" so he could find out information about the other teams and help us.

Wilbur Soot

Mhm.. we'll never know. We'll never know.. What happened in Rocket Spleef..?

Philza

Rocket Spleef it was Tommy-

Tommy committed woman murder.

But, Tallulah, trust me it went hard.

Philza

Tallulah it was poggers and not permanent. So don't worry.

Wilbur Soot

He was feeling good afterwards you could say." Tallulah: "I don't support that mr tommy" [...] Wilbur: "And, yes there was the dynamic duo in Battle Box of Tommy and Techno. Who scored crazy good points and Techno won Ace Race. Techno was kinda the reason we won that MCC.

Philza

Pretty much.

Wilbur Soot

We did fuck all. It was mostly Techno.

Wilbur Soot

We- was- there was at one point a time I- I- I couldn't bring myself to watch MCC 4 because I just got so annoyed at Tommy I would run over during the VOD. But since- since watching it again recently its actually pretty nice and its a pretty good VOD.

Philza

Its really funny there was one moment, Chayanne, where Tommy was like, "I- I got this block!" and I was like "Place it!" and he was like "I dont have the block Phil!" and then I just proceeded to berate and argue with him for like about 3 minutes until the next round started." [And as the story continued into the night, with laughter and memories shared, the Chayanne and Tallulah slowly drifted off to sleep, their imaginations filled with his memory.]

A Story About Dedication

Philza

This story is about a friend of mine, uh, who unfortunately is no longer with us, but.. he was.. so dedicated.. to everything he ever did [laughs] he would literally want to be the best at all of the things..

Philza

And.. it got so ridiculous that like if he wasn't the best at something he would say "Awh, it- it's dumb!" [laughs]

Philza

So like I- [more laughter] its- its a funny story. So, I remember, um, during covid we were hanging out in a call, uh, it was maybe Wil and Techno and..

Philza

Techno was just like "Oh, what are you guys doing?" and he like barely joined VCs we would, like, try and to get him to join VCs all the time- so when he joined it was like "Oh! Sweet!" and we'd like- he got a little bit better at it, like, he was very sort of, like.. socially, uhm, conscious of just like "Oh I dont wanna jump into a VC when people are there I might interrupt their conversation." but we would just tell him "Fuck it, king, just hop in! We don't give a shit! Like, we're happy to have ya."

Philza

So like, gradually, he got better and better at it.. um.. and would just join our VCs what- whatever we were doing. And.. he joined out VC once and Wil was playing this new game.

Philza

I forget what it was called 'cause like- he- he- Wil was playing it for a little while and got good at it then gave up on it 'cause he got bored. But [laughs] he was playing this game and it was kind of like League of Legends sort of? Sort of? But not?

Philza

Uhm, and we got- we got Techno to download it and play it and he played it for a total of 5 minutes.. and he wasn't instantly good at it so- [laughs] so what did he do? He uh- he just.. alt f4'd. And was like "It's dumb. I don't want to play anymore." and I was like, "What do you mean? We just- I- I- I don't know what I'm doing, Techno, Wil's just like good 'cause hes been- hes got more hours than us!" and hes like "No. No, I'm good.". Like. Bruh.

Philza

So, like [laughs] he was dedicated in the things that he really loved and the things he'd already put loads of time into, right, it takes a lot- it took a lot to like grab his attention and keep it. And if he wasn't immediately decent or good at something he just fucking tossed it to one side.

Philza

And he never liked t- liked to admit- he never liked to admit that things he wasn't, like, perfect of.

Philza

Um, I found this out a little but later from Technodad.. but did you know that Techno spoke a little bit of Portuguese? When he was a kid? To such an extent that he, like, could understand someone talking fluent?

Philza

Like, he could listen to them and understand them. But he never fucking told us that shit! 'Cause, ohhh, he wasn't perfect at it! [laughs] He wasn't perfect! Ohhh shit! Woe is me! I- I- [more laughing]

Philza

He could fucking understand it really well when he was kid but I guess like.. it just kind of left- he left it a bit too long and he forgot some of it so he just never mentioned it to us and I found it out from Technodad. Who is great, by the way, I love chatting to him. He's lovely. [...]

Philza

But yeah thats the, thats the dedication if 'ol Techno. He was dedicated when he was instantly decent slash good at something but not when he was bad- when he was bad at something he did.

Shrines and Memorials

Dapper and BadBoyHalo's Shrine

The First Shrine built at night.

On June 1st, in honor of Technoblade's birthday, Dapper took the initiative to construct the first shrine dedicated to him. The shrine's centerpiece featured a podium crafted from four diamond blocks, atop which a mannequin adorned with a replica of Technoblade's crown. In front of the podium, a plant pot cradled a solitary red poppy, accompanied by a sign that read "In Loving Memory of Technoblade." Later, BadBoyHalo added his own touch to the shrine, placing a diamond sword, the sellout bell, paying homage to Technoblade's unmatched combat prowess and his iconic catchphrase "SUBSCRIBE TO TECHNOBLADE!"

In a somber tone, BadBoyHalo expressed his deep admiration for the shrine's arrangement, finding it cute. He then opened up about his heartfelt emotions, saying, "Happy birthday, Technoblade. I still miss you, and I think about you almost every day." Reflecting on the loss, he added, "Don't be sad that you lost someone, be happy with the memories you made with them."

Tallulah's Shrine

Nestled above the potato wall, basking in gentle sunlight and caressed by a soothing breeze, stood the second shrine. Crafted by Tallulah with pinkish terracotta and adorned with mossy columns and roof, it exudes an enchanting aura. Delicate lanterns cast a warm glow, while bells and potato crates hold echoes of significant moments from bygone times. At its center, a mannequin proudly displays a replica of Technoblade's golden crown, surrounded by vibrant tulips and flickering candles beneath a glass floor. The periphery, adorned with candles, dandelions, and white tulips, forms a tranquil sanctuary for both weary farmers and curious travelers.

During the construction process, Tallulah diligently built the shrine out of respect for Technoblade, with Philza stumbled upon it by chance while searching for her, deeply moved by the sight. He took a moment to appreciate the shrine's beauty; however, in reality, Philza later revealed that it took everything to not tear up right then and there. He expressed his gratitude to Tallulah, describing the shrine as "nice and pretty". Philza thanked her for creating a shrine dedicated to an old friend, someone he often mentioned in bedtime stories with her and Chayanne. Unable to speak, Tallulah wrote on a sign to express her emotions, saying, "Sorry, I'm crying while doing this :(".

After the completion of the shrine, Tallulah proudly presented it to Quackity. Upon seeing it, Quackity's face lit up with a heartwarming grin, and he couldn't help but express his genuine delight. He exclaimed, "Aww, this is so cute! This is really, really cute. This is so cool. Oh, my heart is so full right now." Quackity appreciated the thoughtful details and sweetness of the shrine, acknowledging Tallulah's dedication. Before leaving, he rang the sellout bell on the shrine, likely reminiscing about the old times.

As days passed once more, the night fell upon the land, and setting the stage for the highly anticipated 4th of July Fireworks show. FitMC and Ramón, making their way along the summit of the Potato wall, coincidentally stumbled upon Tallulah's shrine. In a silent gesture of respect and camaraderie, FitMC offered a solemn salute. With his beer held high, he raised a toast, as a tribute from one anarchist to another. Their presence lingered briefly, before continuing on their journey towards their destination.

Presently, following Day 159's the Rescue Mission, Tubbo and Nihachu (both long-time friends of Technoblade) were found! Philza then promptly gave them a tour of the island - Tallulah's Technoblade shrine included.

Tazercraft's Shrine

The Last Memorial is concealed within the massive replica of Chayanne found within the Hide and Seek arena, thoughtfully crafted by the talented Brazilian duo, Pac and Mike. Their joint dedication to research and design is evident in the creation of this shrine, serving as both a heartfelt tribute to the late Technoblade and a nod to Chayanne's admiration for him.

Upon stepping into the hiding spot, hiders will be greeted by an item frame displaying a replica of Technoblade's crown. Adjacent to this is a yellow canvas sign with the words "TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES," a well-known catchphrase of his. Moreover, a cheerful yellow kitchen counter is nearby, artfully adorned with crates filled with food and cooking utensils, with a few special crates brimming with potatoes. This thoughtful detail pays homage to Chayanne's culinary skills and his role as a talented chef and barista, while also cherishing Technoblade's fondness for potatoes.

Techno's Ofrenda

Along with an Ofrenda for the deceased eggs, Technoblade was honored at the Día de Muertos event on Day 225. His Ofrenda has signs of his iconic sayings, such as one saying "so long, nerds", and "Blood for the Blood God". Surrounding a painting of him there are multiple items that represent Technoblade and his legacy, including a Totem of Undying, a King's Crown and potato crates. At his visit to the event area on Day 226, Philza left a pickaxe enchanted with Sharpness V named "Toothpick", a reference to the netherite pickaxe Techno carried in the DreamSMP which he killed Quackity with despite all odds being against him. Phil also left one of Chayanne's signs, on which he wrote: "I miss you m8. I'll always keep your memory alive <3".

On day 297, DanSir one of the Capybaras brought Aypierre to observe the art they'd drawn for the ofrenda. He was amazed at their artwork and paid his respects to Techno, reminiscing about fighting against him in a tournament.

Phil has vowed to keep Techno's memory alive and frequently told Chayanne and Tallulah bedtime stories of Techno's adventures throughout the ages. Techno knows all of Phil's fighting moves and can perfectly predict his battle strategies which helped bring Chayanne to victory in his fight against The Ender King (possessing Phil).

Technoblade originally met Phil during Minecraft Mondays in 2019 where the two had an instant connection. They would go on to play in MCC together and on other servers such as SMPEarth, DSMP, and Origins SMP. They formed the friend group of Sleepy Bois Inc with Wilbur Soot and soon after, Tommyinnit. The group would often play Team Fortress 2 together off-stream.

Tubbo met Techno during SMP Earth, they went on to play together in MCC and on servers such as DSMP and Origins SMP. Even before learning of Chayanne's admiration of Techno, he commented how he reminded him of "someone" referring to Techno. They formed the friend group of Sleepy Bois Inc with Ph1LzA and soon after, Tommyinnit. The group would often play Team Fortress 2 together off-stream.

Tommy had started out as a fan of Technoblade. The first time Techno and Tommy had met was when Tommy had worked for him on Skyblock. After that, they became good friends. Techno and Tommy was part of Sleepy Boys Inc. with Philza and Wilbur. They participated in many events together, including SMP Earth, Minecraft Championships, and the Dream SMP. They remained very good friends and Tommy even dedicated his live show in honor of Technoblade.
