The QSMP Elections was a month-long event where the players and the community got to vote Quesadilla Island's first president.[1]
How it Works
Each creator was sent a document to their real-life residence; they were then able to go through most of it by themselves or with their community. It held in-depth information on the elections and how it was set to work. These documents also each carried a unique code for each creator. This event was assumedly meant to progress the QSMP's lore further by expanding upon and exploring the government system and to give power to the people.
Implication of Power
The QSMP president was set to have the ability to, among other things:
- Propose Rules
- Propose Addition Of Any Mod
- Propose Removal Of Any Mod
- Propose Public Works For The Community
- Propose Force Of Law On Situations
- Add 1 New Member To The QSMP
Guided by The Federation, the new president was set to assume the presidency and fulfill their responsibilities.
Submitting Candidacy Requests

Creators who filed to become candidates had to provide the following information:
- Name, Country of birth, Languages spoken, Past work experience
- A short paragraph on what makes them a good candidate for presidency.
- A short paragraph on what is something they love about Quesadilla Island.
- A short paragraph on something they would change about Quesadilla Island.
The Federation reviewed the requests and either ACCEPTED or REJECTED them within 24-hours of submission.
The Inauguration of Campaigns
- Accepted candidates were OBLIGATED to fulfill campaign requirements
- Campaigns had to be associated with brandable material provided solely by the FEDERATION DESIGN BUREAU
- Each candidate was assigned a team to help create logos, designs, and campaign materials
- Failure to adequately fulfill these during the campaign would have resulted in prompt DISQUALIFICATION
- Votes would have been rendered NULL for disqualified candidates
Important Dates
Debate Stage
The debate nights were planned (these were not the finalized dates) to be on June 23rd, 26th and July 5th. These debates were important to see the perspectives and proposals of different candidates.
Election night was originally planned to be on July 8th, however this date was shifted to August 6th to accommodate the large number of presidential candidates attending Twitch Con Paris in real life in July 2023. The night will start with candidates discussing their campaign and future plans, and then candidates will be present virtually to witness election results.
Disqualification of Candidates
Candidates could have been disqualified upon:
- Death
- Candidates had two provisional lives during campaign season; assassination counted
- Failure to show up to at least 1 debate
- Failure to fulfill campaign requirements
- Any decision made by the Federation to disqualify candidates
Voting
QSMP residents' votes were set with 50% weightage, the community had 35%, and the leader board points contributed 15%. Creator input was made most valuable as they were the ones directly affected by who got elected. Each creator got two votes; they could choose to split between two different candidates or use both votes on one candidate. All voting was anonymous, and creators were not allowed to state definitively who they were voting for, at least until the official voting day. Therefore, any deals made before the official day may have consequences if the deal is revealed to have not been held up. After the president is elected, creators could reveal who they voted for, but they did not have to tell the truth.

Initial Campaign Proposals
After the registration of each candidate, their campaign proposals were submitted to The Federation. Subsequently, these proposals were shared with the public and all other residents of the island through ElQuackity.

Advertisement mechanics
WELCOME TO THE QSMP ELECTIONS 2023 As per The QSMP Elections Manual publicly available at http://qsmp.global we've facilitated important elements to guarantee equal opportunities for candidates to promote their campaign.
Candidates can head over to the official Federation Building and access their Ducks by right clicking the ATM. All candidates start with 20 ducks!
After obtaining their Ducks, they can go ahead and choose between the different methods of promoting their campaign. Popular options include Twitter posts, chat announcements, on-screen posters, on-screen videos, billboards.
If candidates are in need of more Ducks, they can go ahead and complete some daily tasks to obtain more resources and purchase more campaign material. WELCOME TO THE QSMP ELECTIONS 2023
