Welcome 악어! (ACAU) is a main event that was announced on February 7th, 2024 (February 8th in KST) and was held on February 11th, 2024 (February 12th in KST) - Day 324 of QSMP. The event introduced a new Korean-Speaking Member to the server, which was revealed to be 악어 on February 9th, 2024. During the event, it was revealed that a new egg, called 춘식, would also be a new member of the Quesadilla Island.

The QSMP 2024 Mini-Puzzle

Upon completion of Day 1 of the QSMP 2024 Mini-Puzzle, an image containing Hibiscus syriacus flowers was revealed. This specific flower choice sparked speculation that the next group of creators added to the server would be Korean speaking creators as it is South Korea's national flower and is a traditional symbol of Korean people and culture. To many, the hibiscus syriacus is even known as the Korean rose because of this symbolism and because it was originally prolific in yet endemic to Korea until the 8th century.

Respect For Cultural Differences

On February 8th, 2024, 3:13am KST, Quackity Studios published a thread sharing with the community that this addition would include the first group of creators who speak a language that is not like English or other languages that use a latin script, and that the culture of these members differs greatly from that of the previously added members. The thread also reminded viewers that different cultures are more or less outspoken on certain issues, and view different topics as more or less controversial, but that respectful communication and breaking down barriers between all of the cultures represented on the QSMP are the first and foremost priority for Quackity Studios.

The First Teaser

On February 8th at 4:52 AM KST, Quackity Studios tweeted the first teaser image, announcing new members from an east asian timezone would be arriving on Quesadilla Island on Train 3. The time of this event is advertised predominantly in PST via the Los Angeles arrival time, CET via the Paris and Madrid times, BRT via the São Paulo arrival time, CST via the Mexico City time, and GMT for the London arrival time, and the QSMP in general is run based on PST, therefore the date of this event is advertised as falling on "Sunday, February 11", but in KST this event was announced for 12:30 AM via an obscured location, and therefore on Monday, February 12th for the new creators.

The First Member Announcement

On February 10th at 10:23 AM KST, Quackity went live on his channel QuackityToo with the title "ANUNCIANDO NUEVO LENGUAJE EN QSMP". In this stream, he revealed Korean Speaking Members would be the newest additions to the server. He also explained that the approach to adding new members will be different as they are handling the integration with a lot of care.

Sunday, February 11th, 2024

On February 12th at 12:30 AM KST, 악어 joined the server for the first time. He arrived at a third train, which was set to arrived at the platform named "Train 3" in the Train Station in the basement of The Mall. Acau received a tour from Quackity and met a lot of the Island members in The Mall. He got to introduce himself to everyone there and chat with them a little bit. He also got to meet some eggs and later received a big surprise, his own little egg! 악어 named his new son 춘식 (written as Chunsik in latin script) and spent some time with him, so they can meet each other for the first time. The little egg got a lot of attention and was also welcomed by everyone.

Trivia

• This is the first event of 2024 that introduced new players to QSMP, in addition to being the first to introduce a new language after a long time since the arrival of the French Speakers on May 2023.
• This has become achievable thanks to the 'Real-Time Translation' tool, facilitating communication among individuals speaking different languages.
• From this event onwards, the limited life system for Eggs and their missions to fill their happiness bars were reintroduced, which had previously been turned off at the beginning of QSMP 2024.
